Further success for Downham Market's Marquettes baton twirlers

Athletes from the Marquettes Baton Twirlers of Downham have once again proved themselves on the floor of competition, at an event on Sunday.

Grace Meadows-Flint and Scarlette Burton brought home 12 placings between them at the Bellstars Invitational held in Kent.

Coach Charlotte Cornish said: “This competition was extremely tough, with large volumes of athletes competing in each section, but we are very pleased with the results and this is extra competition floor time before the National Championships at Easter.”

She said they hope the athletes will “keep doing our club and town proud.

“We will be showcasing our talents at the upcoming Downham Market Festival in the Bank Holiday Monday Carnival if anyone would like to pop along and see us.”
