Gala charity concert at Hunstanton Town Hall

Well-known impresario and pianist John Harris is to present a special gala concert at Hunstanton Town Hall to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Queen's Accession to the Throne.

The variety concert on June 4 starting at 7.30pm, will feature local amateur singers and musicians and feature the West Norfolk Singers, Sharon Yates, Malachi Needham, Christine Earnshaw and the Platinum Players.

The concert will close with a specially produced finale featuring the entire cast performing patriotic songs and poems.

Tickets cost £7 (concessions £5) and are available from Hunstanton Town Council on 01485 532402.

All proceeds from the evening will be in support of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust Fund and the mayor of Hunstanton's Charity.

Mr Harris, of Heacham, has enjoyed a career teaching languages but has always enjoyed playing the piano, Over the years he has raised thousands of pounds for various charities. He was well-known for his annual piano playing marathons in Heacham.
