A Lynn garden centre has backed efforts by the Norfolk Hospice Tapping House to expand a gardening therapy programme at its Hillington site.

Managers at the Dobbies store on Lynn’s Hardwick estate have given £1,000 to the hospice, its charity partner for 2015, to fund bulbs, flowers and equipment suited to the patients.

Victoria Emden, community champion for Dobbies, pictured above with Emma Shaw from the hospice, said: “We were really keen to support the hospice as we know how beneficial gardening can be to vulnerable people.

“I hope the group can enjoy the calming nature of gardening and create peaceful spaces for those who need it most.”

The donation follows the installation of a new wheelchair friendly greenhouse by hospice supporters and engineers from RAF Marham.

Hospice officials have thanked everyone who supported the project. Any business that wishes to work with the hospice during 2016 should call its fundraising team on 01485 601701.
