Gas pipeline bid at King's Lynn power plant

Developers behind plans to expand a Lynn power station have submitted proposals for a new gas supply connection point and underground pipeline to the site.

EP UK Power Development Ltd has applied to West Norfolk Council for permission to build the installation at its Willow Road, Saddlebow site.

Earlier this month, the authority lodged no objection to the company’s application to generate more power from the plant than under a previous consent granted in 2009. The borough considered the application as a consultee, but does not have the final decision.

The latest application also comes as Norfolk County Council prepares to consider a proposal to lease land to the company to enable the development of a carbon capture facility.

Members will be asked to give senior officials the power to negotiate a deal at a meeting in Norwich on Monday.
