Gaywood Aldi customers selected to trial new premium lunchtime sandwich range
Gaywood's Aldi store has been chosen as one of several from across the east of England by the supermarket chain to trial its new range of premium lunchtime sandwiches.
The sandwiches are available in three flavours – Sage Chicken and Serrano Ham, Ayrshire Cured Ham Hock and Farmhouse Cheddar and a New York Deli Pastrami with Emmental cheese.
They are all served on Aldi’s popular craft bloomer bread. All three ranges are now available in stores across the county.
Aldi have taken the top-selling sandwich in the market – chicken and bacon – and turned it up a level, with British sage buttered shredded chicken and shavings of Serrano ham, with juicy vine tomatoes and a creamy sage and onion mayonnaise.
Aldi have turned the popular ham and cheese sandwich into a premium treat, with British shredded ham hock, tangy Barber’s mature cheddar and fruity caramelised apple and pear chutney, served with spinach on thick malted bloomer bread.
Inspired by the bestselling premium sandwich flavour, Gaywood customers will also be able to try a new bloomer version of a New York deli.
It's made with British beef brisket, black pepper pastrami and a nutty Emmental cheese, and is served with American style mustard, gherkins and sauerkraut mayonnaise.
The sandwiches cost £2.29 and will only be in stocked for a limited time. However,t if they prove popular, they could be seen in all Aldi stores up and down the country.
