GCSE RESULTS 2018: Springwood High School celebrate 'fantastic set of results'
Springwood High School is celebrating a "fantastic set of results" with 37 students scoring at least one grade 9.
This year's results adopt a new 9-1 grading system, with a 9 equating to an A* under the previous system and a 4 equalling out to a C.
Executive headteacher, Andy Johnson said: "“This is a fantastic set of results for our students. The new GCSE set a new standard and I am so pleased that our students and staff have risen to this challenge.”
Top performing student, Malu Nair scored grade 9s in all 12 of her GCSE subjects.
Among other top performers was Rosie Huang who achieved seven 9s and two 8s, and Shayan Shaikh who gained four 8s and six 4s.
Brandon Tuttle scored four 9s and three 8s, and Alvin Jaison came out with four 9s and four 8s.
Chair of governors, Roger Livesey said: “Springwood places a high emphasis on academic study alongside its excellent extra, curricular offer. It is great to see so many students achieve so well."
