Application for glamping pods on Sandringham Estate’s caravan and motorhome club site submitted to West Norfolk Council
An opportunity to stay in a glamping pod on the King’s estate could be on the horizon if a planning application is approved.
The Sandringham Estate Caravan and Motorhome Club Site has put in an application to West Norfolk Council to extend the site to create 28 new all-weather touring caravan pitches, as well as 15 glamping safari tent pitches.
Plans also include 12 more camping pitches, two new toilet block buildings sitting off the manager's accommodation unit and utilities pod, and improvements to the internal access road.
A report to the planning authority states that the tents would enable campers to extend their stay.
The glamping pods would be placed among trees away from other camping pitches.
The pods vary in sizes, and can sleep from three to six people, and include a bathroom, kitchenette, lounge area and patio.
The site currently has 138 pitches.
A decision on whether to approve the plans has yet to be made by West Norfolk Council.
