Grand donation to Downham Market Dementia Café

Downham's Dementia Café has received a boost thanks to a charitable organisation in the town.

Downham Market Rotary Club donated £1,000 to the café at a meeting last week.

The café, which is part of Downham Dementia Support Association, provides a meeting place for those who have dementia and their carers.

During a talk to Rotarians, manager Sarah Fisher and chairwoman Joan Alfred highlighted the growth of dementia within society, its impact and the café's work.

Rotary president Martin Chilvers said he hoped the funds would enable the café to "extend its vital role in the community".
