Frozen fans of all ages flocked to Lynn’s Majestic Cinema on Sunday for a special screening of the film that helped raise £1,000 for West Norfolk charity, Reach For A Star.

Proving that some good causes are worth melting for, youngsters donned their Elsa and Olaf costumes as they came to watch the hit Disney filmon the big screen, after meeting characters from the film in the lobby.

Jim Lewis, one of the charity founders, said: “The Frozen event was incredible – we are still as excited as most of the children in the audience! To those who made it, thank you.

“A huge thank you to the guys at The Majestic and to the wonderful storybook princesses from Darling Princess Parties. We had a great day and both the staff and our princesses made it so much more magical.”

The screening was the first event of this type the charity has held, but organisers are already planning for more in the future after seeing the huge success of Frozen, which sold out within days.

Amy Kerrison said: “Thank you to the organisers from myself and my daughter for an amazing time. It was lovely to hear all the little ones singing along and we look forward to supporting youReach For A Star in future events.”

Lisa Goodacre added: “My daughter, Katie, and I had an amazing time. Everyone was so friendly, the princesses were amazing and my daughter was so excited. It was lovely to hear everyone singing along to the film – a great day for all.”

The money raised from the showing of the film will go towards the charity, which supports children who suffer from a life-altering medical condition, and their families.

Money raised from previous events has helped families with travelling costs to receive medical treatment, equipment including specialised wheelchairs and more.

Jim said: “We will be arranging something for 2015. We’re afraid it won’t be another showing of Frozen and could be very different but we think you may find it just as exciting and we’ll do our best to make it as memorable as possible. With regards to Frozen, we are thinking of something a little different for April 2015. It might not be as big but it should be just as special.”

He added: “For those who missed out on the Frozen screening, our Christmas Market is on Sunday, December 7, at Asda South Wootton and Santa will have a very special helper all the way from Arendelle – Elsa! She will be helping Santa in his grotto from 10am-1pm.”
