A village store will be opening its doors once more this weekend after a short closure.
The Country Store in Great Bircham will be re-opening tomorrow.
A shop has stood on the current site for more than 100 years providing a service to the residents of Great Bircham and the surrounding villages.
Returning to manage the shop after an absence of 10 years, resident, Mark Orton said: “Fundamentally, the Country Store is here for the local community.
“We will supply locally sourced, fresh produce in addition to the daily essentials.
“With no bus service in the village it is essential that we cater for the residents who may have difficulty in shopping in Fakenham or Lynn.
“There will be pressure for us to compete with supermarket prices, but we also hope that our customers will support the store to prevent further closures.
“I have been in the shop re-stocking this week and the response of locals and passers-by who have stopped to talk and wish me every success has been most encouraging.
“There is also the visiting public to consider. We also plan to sell wines, fresh fruit and local vegetables. A delicatessen counter will offer a range of take-away foods just perfect for that hamper on the beach.”
