Memory Lane Schooldays: Looking back at King’s Lynn’s budding gardeners’ work from 2011




In our weekly Memory Lane schooldays feature, we look back a some budding gardeners’ hard work…

A blooming good effort was made by two Lynn schools in October 2011 to bring some colour to their local neighbourhood.

The hope was that residents in Highgate would see the area burst into full bloom the following spring thanks to the efforts of children from Eastgate Community School and Highgate Infant School.

The area, near Gaywood River, was previously the subject of complaints because of its scruffy appearance, before West Norfolk Council’s parks team and local people started to brighten it up.
