Grenade in River Nar at Narborough safely detonated by army bomb disposal team

A grenade was safely detonated last night after being spotted in a village river.

Norfolk officers were called to Main Road in Narborough at 1.53pm yesterday (Thursday), which passes over the River Nar, after receiving reports of the device.

A cordon and road closure were put in place as emergency services attended the scene, and the army's Explosive Ordinance Disposal then set the grenade off in a nearby field at 5.07pm.
