Youngsters from Greyfriars Primary School provided a big turnout in this year’s Mini GEAR run.
More than 50 children took part in the race, raising money for Friends of Greyfriars School (FROGS).
Assistant headteacher Clare Emery, who completed the main 10k run herself, said: “This is the third year that we have taken part in the race and the numbers taking part just gets bigger every year.
“We have a really well-attended running club at the school and many of the children involved in that took part in the race.
“The first year we did the Mini GEAR we had about 10 children take part and this year there was 50, so it just goes to show how much it has grown.
“All of the children thoroughly enjoyed it and it is fantastic to see so many taking part.”
The school are hoping to raise several hundred pounds for FROGS, but the totalamount raised is still to be finalised.
