Grimston ‘Tunes from the Trenches’

John Kirkpatrick returns to St Botolph’s Church, Grimston, to perform a kitbag of songs from the World Wars in Tunes From The Trenches.

There’ll be a fair old smattering of popular hits of the day and, threaded through these, John will also air some of the songs sung on the Front Line by the service personnel themselves.

John’s previous performances at St Botolph’s of ‘The Victorian Farmer’s Year in Song’ and ‘Carolling and Crumpets’ proved to be hugely popular.

This is a heart-warming show, with occasional poignant moments in amongst the jolly choruses, celebrating the comradeship and spirit that allowed those previous generations to Keep Smiling Through.

‘Tunes from the Trenches’ takes place at St Botolph’s Church, Gayton Road, Grimston, PE32 1BG on Thursday, November 9, starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets: on the door £10 for members, £12 for non- members or non- members can pre-book for £10 via 01553 630301 or email haywood301@btinternet.com

Tickets include refreshments. Proceeds are in aid of Friends of St Botolph’s.
