A host of village good causes are set to benefit from the proceeds of Watlington’s annual village fete, which was held at the recreation ground on Saturday.
Organisers expect that around £2,000 will be raised from the event, once expenses have been accounted for.
And that money is to be shared between the village’s pre-school, the purchase of new play equipment on the recreation ground and the ongoing maintenance of the Millennium Green.
Earlier this week, pre-school officials have launched an appeal to raise funds for repairs to the roof of their building in the grounds of the village school.
The group is also holding its own fun day next Saturday, July 11, to help raise funds for the cause.
The fete also coincided with a flower festival staged at the village’s St Peter and St Paul church throughout the weekend.
