Salon moves to new premises in King's Lynn offering complimentary treatments
GH Hair Design are moving premises to St Ann’s Fort in Lynn and celebrating 10 years of trading tomorrow.
An open day is planned for Sunday, October 17 for visitors to see the premises and meet the team and some treatments free of charge.
On offer are reiki and reflexology to sample which is part of a holistic approach to the business as a whole.
Gemma Harvey, owner said: "GH Hair Design opened 10 years ago and the last year has been difficult.
" As the salon was growing I always knew we would have to look for larger premises at some point.
"We have had to move so that our apprentices could continue working in a safe space as we invest a lot time in to our trainees."
The premise of the new larger space will incorporate the message to clients to rest, relax and re-charge.
With a peaceful reception area there are also areas for clients to have ten minutes to themselves while their conditioning treatment is developing.
Mrs Harvey said; "Once I found the premises it all happened very quickly and we began doing it all up with the help of friends and family. Our team can get back to a safe environment and promote health and well being.
"Even before the pandemic we could see that our clients were burning out, rushing around, with full diaries and everyone seemed so busy.
"The salon is a space where my clients can really switch off in our relaxation lounge. It is amazing what ten minutes contemplation can do, sitting quietly before moving on to the next steps of the day and being more productive."
The open day, as well as celebrating a decade in business and the new premises is also a way to give back to the community.
Ms Harvey said: "If people would like to come along they just need to let us know so we can add them to the guest list and cater accordingly.
"We all need that little bit of pampering and the free treatments will show what we offer."
Ms Harvey has been hairdressing for 20 years and recognises the importance of a bespoke salon experience.
She said: "Each station is separated so that we can build that connection with clients. As soon as they come through the door it is calm and when they walk in it is quiet while they wait for their stylist."
"While their colour is processing they can go in to the relaxation lounge. For us as stylists we like the quietness and calm environment.
"People can really switch off, we have had to wake a couple of clients up!"
Ms Harvey certainly goes above and beyond in her business approach and demonstrated this during the lockdowns.
She said: "I rang round all the clients and checked to see how they were doing.
I noticed how much they do rely on us and it's so much more than a haircut, they come here to open up and that's really what they are doing, they need that service.
"We get little snippets from people sometimes and feel maybe something isn't quite right. Listening to that client, and really hearing what they are saying we get to know them and help them."
"It is also important to show that businesses are growing and people are succeeding despite the difficult time."
