An array of hats, heels and colours were the order of the day as Fakenham Racecourse held its third Ladies Day on Sunday.

Thousands streamed through the gates of the north Norfolk course with the ultimate in glitz and glamour on show.

The afternoon is highly regarded as one of Fakenham Racecourse’s biggest social occasions.

Ladies upped the style stakes and between races, all eyes were on the Best Dressed Lady, Best Dressed Couple and Best Hat competition.

The corks popped and the picnic rugs were unfurled along the side rails, while several, including gentleman, chose to take advantage of the course’s an ‘Afternoon Tea at The Races’ package which was brought in for the first time this year.

The Fakenham Races Ladies Day Best Dressed Hat competition was won by Carrie Massingham, while the winner of the Best Dressed Lady competition was Debbie Grogan.

An outstanding double from Brodie Hampson highlighted a cork-popping afternoon at the course during the final meeting of the season.
