Fakenham pub Henry IV offers £2,000 salary for someone to attend fun summer events at other pubs

A pub in Fakenham is offering a "dream" job to the successful candidate who will get paid to travel the country to experience summer events at other pubs.

The Henry IV on Greenway Lane, is encouraging people who live locally to apply for the events tester role, which comes with a salary of £2,000.

In return the reviewer will feedback his or her findings to help shape the Fakenham pub's programme of summer events and entertainment.

The successful candidate will be required to travel to four different summer social events at Greene King pubs, which will be selected for him or her. The events have to be reviewed thoroughly, covering the atmosphere and activities, to the food and drink, with all findings reported back to management at the Henry IV.

The role has been created to celebrate the launch of Greene King’s Great British Summer Social, which will see more than 1,500 events take place at Greene King pubs nationwide, from beer yoga and beach parties.

Hazel Wheelhouse, general manager at the Henry IV, said: “Events are a great way to bring the community together and there’s nothing better than spending time with family and friends at your local pub, especially over the summer. That’s why we are creating an action-packed summer of events for locals, with help from our first ever official event tester.

“We’re looking for one lucky applicant who will get paid to attend exciting events across the UK to help shape our own entertainment calendar. We’d love for someone from Fakenham to be selected to experience this opportunity.

“So, if you fancy attending pub events and sampling an exciting range of food and drink – all while getting paid to do so, then we want to hear from you.”

The winner will be selected and notified ahead of the summer of events so they can attend four of the events and report back on them. Travel expenses would be paid out of the £2,000 salary.

Interested applicants should visit summer.greeneking.co.uk/sabbartical/ before Sunday, June 9.
