Heavy rain brings flooding to Norfolk

Incidents of flooding were seen across West Norfolk yesterday after the area had been battered by heavy rain.

Firefighters across the area were busy reporting to incidents of flooding following the deluge.

An officer was called to the A1065 at Castle Acre at 8.35am to assess the situation after receiving a call from a homeowner. No crew attended

Another officer was dispatched to Longfields in Swaffham at the same time after another incident of flooding was reported by a householder. A crew did not attend.

Crews from Lynn were called to Purfleet Street at 9am to pump away a large pool of water which covered the pavement and was lapping at nearby buildings.

A fire officer was also called to Church Walk, in Burnham Market, at 10.20am. The services of a crew were not needed at this incident.

Flooding was reported within a home in Stow Corner, Stow Bardolph, at 11am.

Further rain is expected to batter the area for over the coming days. Saturday is expected to be wet with temperatures turning cooler.

The Met Office has warned that low pressure systems from the Atlantic will be bringing in more rain over the weekend.
