Help to clean up Old Hunstanton beach

By Lynn News Reporter

To coincide with the UK’s biggest annual beach clean this September, Sea Life Hunstanton will be inviting volunteers to join them for its own coastline clean up.

The Great British Beach Clean, organised by and in support of the Marine Conservation Society, will see volunteers around the country help clean beaches from today until Monday.

Adam Makinson, duty manager at Sea Life Hunstanton said: “By coordinating our clean with The Great British Beach Clean we are determined to make this the biggest clean-up yet.

“The threat from plastic pollution to our marine wildlife is only getting worse, with an estimated 46,000 pieces of plastic per square mile of the ocean. At Sea Life we want to make a difference and encourage people to use and dispose of plastics responsibly to save our oceans.”

The beach clean will be held on Sunday between 11am and 12pm on Old Hunstanton beach.

Participants are encouraged to invite others and are advised to bring their own gloves, sturdy shoes and litter pickers if possible.

To register to the event, visit the Hunstanton Sea Life Facebook page and sign up to the Beach Clean event.
