The pantomime season is not too far away and one local group has put out an appeal for actors to join in the fun.

Sleeping Beauties will be staged in the new year by Downham Amateur Dramatic Society (DADS), which is actively seeking new adult members (aged 16 and over) to take some of the roles.

They are looking to fill three lead roles ideal for men aged over 40, three lead roles for women aged between 18 and 30, and a male lead aged between 18 and 30.

There are also multiple roles for chorus and smaller parts – and finally, if you think you’ve got what it takes to be the Dame, then DADS would love to hear from you.

Actors from other locals drama groups are very welcome, as are those with little or no experience.

Written and directed by DADS member Tom Tree, the show will be fast paced and modern but with all the traditional elements audiences expect, designed to make people laugh from start to finish with no dull bits.

The read through is being held next Tuesday, September 22, at the Jubilee Hall in Downham from 7.30-10pm; auditions will be at the same venue on Sunday, September 27, from 10am-5pm and you can choose a time slot to suit your diary.

DADS rehearse on Mondays and Fridays from 7.30- 10pm in the Jubilee Hall, starting at the end of October through until the performance dates of January 15-17, 2016.
