Terrington High School celebrates its young carers with Christmas-themed day and presents




A school celebrated its young carers with a Christmas-themed day dedicated to them.

St Clements High School in Terrington St Clement held a Christmas event for its young carers with a film, treats and a gift.

On the day the carers watched a Christmas film while enjoying their hot dogs, popcorn and hot chocolate station. In the afternoon there was an inflatable snow globe and donated presents were distributed among them.

The school has 86 student carers aged 11 to 16. The school organises events throughout the year for the carers so they are recognised as well as offering them a support group.

Robyn Fisher, pastoral officer and young carer lead, said: “It was amazing, all of the carers completely loved it.

“One of them said it was the ‘best day’ of his life, another one, she got a gift which her mum could not afford, so she said it made her Christmas.

“They all had such a lovely time.”

“We would not of been able to of done it without everyone's generosity.”

Ms Fisher thanked The Community Grant Fund and Simon Rowe's Toy Appeal.

As well as, North Norfolk Paddle Boards, Accidental Wonky Bag Company, KLRC at Lynnsport, the community and the staff at the school for all of their donations for the occasion.
