Marshland High School in West Walton takes part in Christmas Jumper Day fundraiser for Save the Children




A wealth of wool was on show at a high school’s Christmas Jumper Day fundraiser.

Students at Marshland High School in West Walton took part in the annual appeal to raise money for the charity Save the Children.

It came as other schools in the West Norfolk Academies Trust joined in the fun including Smithdon High School in Hunstanton, Springwood High School in Lynn, Clenchwarton Primary, and Walpole Cross Keys Primary.

“We raise around £200 each year, and hope to have raised £200 this time,” said Claire Whitehouse, assistant head teacher at the school.

Launched in 2012, Christmas Jumper Day has since raised more than £30million for children in the UK and around the globe.

Last year, 1.5 million children and teachers and 27,000 workplaces took part, gathering £3million for the charity.
