West Norfolk League Division One

The top two from last week played out a high scoring match.

Hockwold batting first scored 225 for 4 with opener Anthony Ruddick ‘carrying his bat’ throughout the innings for an unbeaten 63 with Euan Gilmour scoring 68. David Spencer took 4 for 39 as Denver’s innings closed on 205 for 9 for a 20-run victory for Hockwold.

Denver’s CGM MoM was awarded to Daniel Cornwell.

Opener Perry Dawson carried his bat for an unbeaten 101 as Castle Rising reached 193 for 5. Matt Taylor 78 and Nick Castellan 58no put on 130 runs for the fifth wicket but couldn’t quite see Hillington to victory as they still needed five runs to win when the overs ran out.

Chris Smith took 5 for 11 as nine-man Northwold were bowled out for 64 with only Jason Plumpton getting into double figures with 35.

Joe Peveritt hit an unbeaten 43 as Sandringham ran out winners by nine wickets.

Kieran Herbert took 3 for 0 as eight-man Heacham were bowled out for 43. Snettisham completed a seven-wicket victory in the 12th over.

Division Two

In a low scoring match Sandringham A scored 101 all out. Peter Crisp top scored with 40 but Cameron Bear with 5 for 14 helped bowl Narborough A all out for 91 for a 10-run victory.

Stuart Merritt with 87no and Ben Wilkinson 75no put on 135 for the fourth wicket as Gooderstone reached 212 for 3. Andy Dixon took 4 for 4 as Fakenham 3rds were bowled out for just 19 for a 193 run victory.

Holt were unable to raise a team against Downham B and so forfeit the match.

The football season meant neither club had the use of their home ground, so the Castle Acre v Hospital match has been rescheduled for August 29.

Division Three

Castle Rising A were bowled out for 73 and Dersingham A went on to complete a six-wicket victory in the 24th over.

Andy Rust was unbeaten on 42 as Gooderstone A reached 113 all out with Paul Ingram taking 4 for 11. Connor Grief scored 53 as Snettisham A ran out winners by six wickets.

Tony Exley scored 59 batting at number eight as Swaffham A reached 167 for 9 with Paul Kennedy Jnr taking 4 for 24 for Gayton. Jack Coggles 4 for 15 dismissed the top four batsmen as Gayton were bowled out for 82 for an 85-run victory.

Denver A were unable to raise a team against Bircham A and so forfeit the match.
