Holkham seeks to find a trainee forester
The Holkham Estate is looking to recruit a trainee forester to work with its woodland team.
It is seen as a rare and exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work on the 25,000 acre rural estate on one of the most beautiful stretches of the North Norfolk coast.
The successful applicant's role will include tasks such as plantation maintenance, harvesting (thinning, clear felling and windblow), biomass production, firewood, on-call reactive work and other woodland related tasks.
A training programme will allow the successful candidate to achieve basic chainsaw courses and knowledge of woodland management.
They will be required to support the head forester with on-call and out of hours work.
The job description lists personal qualities that are needed including good communication skills, initiative, energy and persistence, ability to work calmly under pressure, the ability to multi-task, to work independently and as part of a team and to act as an ambassador for the estate in its vision to become the UK's most pioneering and sustainable rural estate.
