Operators of the historic West Lynn ferry are hoping to take delivery of the new amphibious craft shortly.
Steve and Gail Kingston had expected to receive the new boat this week but technical problems have put back the delivery date. On its arrival, passengers will then travel across the river on a converted boat with tracks, designed to overcome problems with shallow water and sandbanks.
Mr Kingston, who took over the service in 2000 and funded the boat, said: “This is a unique boat so there is no information from other sources to draw from. We are optimistic to receive it shortly after the problem has been sorted.”
Meanwhile, the ferry is still operating as usual.
