Horse dies following incident on A47 in West Norfolk

A horse has died following an incident on one of West Norfolk's busiest roads yesterday.

Police say they were called to the A47 at Walpole Highway, shortly after noon on Sunday, following reports that a car had lost a horsebox which it was towing.

The horsebox came to rest in the central reservation, blocking the route.

A Norfolk Police spokesman said a short time ago that a vet was called to the incident and the animal had to be put down at the scene.

The road was blocked for around four hours following the incident.
