Horseriders stage protest against Shouldham Warren quarry proposals

Scores of horseriders staged a protest at the weekend against the idea of a West Norfolk beauty spot being quarried for minerals.

The demonstration at Shouldham Warren on Saturday came on the eve of the closure of a public consultation on draft plans for waste and mineral sites across Norfolk.

The Shouldham site has been highlighted as a potential area of search for silica sand, though campaigners say it would destroy the local environment which offers a safe off-road environment for horses and their riders.
