Hundreds gather for Phil's Ride in Southery for East Anglian Air Ambulance in Phil Beeton's memory
A charity event held in memory of a man who was killed in a crash has returned to West Norfolk for the seventh time.
Phil's Ride is an annual motorcycle and cycling event to raise money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA).
It started after Phil Beeton and his nephew Jack were involved in a collision where Phil lost his life, but the EAAA managed to save Jack.
This year, the ride, held on Sunday, involved 50 motorbikes, 60 push bikes and 40 on foot taking different routes in memory of Phil.
Motorcyclists took the 109-mile return route to Blakeney whilst cyclists peddled from the Old White Bell in Southery to Downham and back.
This year, walkers marched two laps around The Common in Southery. This involved some of the team that will be walking in the Sahara desert in October, including Phil's brother David Beeton.
David Fletcher is a family friend of Phil and his wife. He first set up the annual ride shortly after Phil's death in 2015.
"It was absolutely brilliant, we had good weather for the first time," said David.
"Jack wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the East Anglian Air Ambulance, and we've raised a total of around £92,000 since we've started doing Phil's ride.
"We wanted to do something to raise money, we spoke to his wife and she thought it was a great idea."
So far, a total of £12,500 has been raised via cash donations from Sunday's event and through a Just Giving page.
David has also organised an open-air film night showing Elvis this Saturday at the Old White Bell in Southery starting at 8pm. David encourages anybody going to bring their own chair.
