Hunstanton named as the latest location to receive Lightspeed Broadband
Hunstanton has been named as one of the locations after Lightspeed Broadband announced its second wave of build locations for the roll-out of its full fibre multi-gigabit network.
The Lincolnshire-based company is expanding across the East of England.
Backed by an international investment consortium, Lightspeed launched in February 2021 with a funded plan and an ambition to reach one million homes and businesses by 2025 and to become a leading provider in the market.
In April, Lightspeed mobilised one hundred engineers to kick-start the network roll-out across its first wave of ten build locations in South Lincolnshire and West Norfolk.
Since then, the team has grown and the build has been progressing at ‘light speed’ in Boston, Bourne, Holbeach, Lynn and South Wootton, Market Deeping, Skegness, Sleaford, Spalding and Stamford, with the Lightspeed team working closely with local councils and communities.
Existing infrastructure is being re-used where possible to speed up the process, minimise environmental impact and reduce disruption to residents.
The company is on track to connect its first customers to the gigabit network in these locations later this summer.
Steve Haines, CEO for Lightspeed Broadband, said: “We have been moving at ‘light speed’ to deliver our objectives to become a leading regional internet service provider and bring ultra-reliable, futureproof full fibre internet to thousands of homes and businesses across the East of England.
“Working closely with stakeholders in each of our locations is very important to us and we want to be open and transparent about our next wave of locations so we can engage with local partners ahead of the build phase this autumn.”
Lightspeed will be offering a range of affordable packages directly to consumers and businesses. For further information and to register, visit: www.lightspeed.co.uk
