In its seventh year the Hunstanton Christmas Tree Festival at the Town Hall proved more popular than ever with a record number of entries, visitors and mince pies consumed over the weekend.

Visitors were encouraged to vote for their favourite tree and when all the votes were counted the adult prize went to the Community Choir Tree, designed by soprano Susan Collins.

There were high scores for Norfolk Wildlife Trust, Northfield Allotments, Community Orchard, Dean Baker’s Plumber’s Tree, RNLI, and St Mary’s Old Hunstanton.

The winner of the junior section was Smithdon High School for the ingenious ‘pile of books’ Christmas Tree with Hunstanton Primary as runners up.

John Harris, the Community Choir and St Edmund’s Choir provided a range of musical entertainment over the weekend.
