Hunstanton post office is to get a makeover next month.
It will open as a modernised main branch, which means it will be open seven days a week from 7am to 8pm.
The branch at 21 High Street will be a new open-plan layout and offer bill payment, banking, benefits and travel money as well as postal and parcel services.
The new-look opens on Monday, November 10, at 1pm.
The service will be provided from four modern counters. There are two screened counters and one open plan position.
The main counters will be open Monday to Saturday 9am-5.30pm, offering core post office services.
There will also be an open plan combi-counter, where the Post Office terminal will sit alongside the till and offer most services throughout shop opening hours, Monday to Sunday, 7am-8pm.
To prepare for the new look, the post office will close for refurbishment on Wednesday, October 29, at 5.30pm.
Post offices at Old Hunstanton and Heacham are the nearest for those seeking postal services until it reopens.
Kevin Shepherd, area manager, said: “We know how important Post Office services are to residents in Hunstanton and we are confident this vibrant modern Post Office at the heart of the community will be popular.
“The modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme enabling us to continue investing in the Post Office network and to map out a bold growth strategy to the end of the decade.”
The move is part of major modernisation programme across the Post Office network designed to make it easier for customers to do business, through longer opening hours and modern open plan environments.
