A young artist is to have his picture of healthy fruit and vegetables seen by thousands of shoppers after winning a competition organised by the Tesco store in Hunstanton.
Stephen Larman, from Hunstanton Primary School, also won a Junior Chef’s Academy Workshop on healthy eating for his class, Lego and a £25 gift card for himself.
Tesco invited pupils to create a picture to promote healthy eating and nine-year-old Stephen drew the winning design, featuring fruit and vegetable characters enjoying exercise.
His picture has been transferred on to limited edition hessian bags and given away in store.
Store manager, Gareth Rapkins, went to his school to present Stephen with his bag and prizes last Friday.
He said: “Stephen’s picture of healthy fruit and vegetables really stood out but it was hard to pick a winner and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who entered the competition.
“The design looks fantastic on the hessian bags and customers love them.”
A delighted Hunstanton Primary School headteacher, Nigel Harvey, said: “The children are all very excited that Stephen won the competition and are looking forward to the healthy eating workshop.
“The hessian bags look amazing and Stephen’s design is great.”
