Year 6 pupils at Redgate junior School in Hunstanton have been investigating an urban myth as part of their maths work – do some colour cars or vans drive faster than others.

Working with Norfolk County Council, they used speed guns and discovered that motorists tend to slow down when they saw the speed guns and the vehicles were travelling faster on Oasis Way where the speed guns were not visible.

But no particular colour went faster than others and vans did not go any faster than cars.
