Brand new facilities and extensive grounds for Foundation Stage and Key Stage One children in Hunstanton were opened on Monday.

The new building, built as an extension to the former Redgate Junior School, has large up to date classrooms and means that children aged from four to 11 are all on one site.

Headteacher Nigel Harvey said: “The school team has worked really hard to get the new school ready and have done a tremendous job.

“We have already had our first whole school assembly and our year six children have already been to share books with the children in our youngest class, something that is far easier now we are all together.

“Children are also meeting up with older or younger brothers and sisters at lunchtime and at some playtimes, which they are thoroughly enjoying.

“Many of our families now do not have to shuttle between two sites and a number have already told me that they are now able to walk to school as a result.

“Academically, the staff will have the opportunity to work even closer together to ensure continuity and progression across the school.”
