Hughes Electrical continues its programme of investment across the UK
A leading retailer is bucking the national trend by continuing its programme of investment in the UK High Street.
Hughes Electrical has spent over £50,000 on a month-long refit of its branch at 28 High Street, Hunstanton – resulting in a plethora of improvements to its layout and display areas.
It has been undertaken to enable a much bigger variety of products to be on display while also giving customers a better shopping experience.
A new area has been created to showcase built-in appliances which have recently seen a surge in demand.
In line with current guidelines, distance markers and arrows have also been put on the floor.
The store is under the day-to-day control of manager Mark Page, who has been in the electrical retail business in Hunstanton for more than 40 years.
He said, “With the work having been planned for some time lockdown meant we were able to do it without inconveniencing customers - who we have been delighted to now welcome back and get their feedback on the changes.”
Mr Page is supported by two other long serving staff members - senior sales assistant Nigel Jeavons and sales assistant Aled Partin.
Added Hughes managing director Mark Wardell: “We remain committed to serving the local community of Hunstanton where we have operated for nearly 30 years.
“This investment shows our desire to remain part of its high street and play our role in its successful future.
“Mark and the team do an amazing job and it is only right we give them the best possible environment to demonstrate our ever increasing range of products. Our 32 shops across seven counties in England remain a vital part of our business model and we will continue to invest in them.”
