Indoor festive market a hit in Kings Lynn

Discover King's Lynn organised the Christmas market inside this year which saw some 4,000 visitors in to the town at the weekend.

Using the unoccupied former Argos store in the town centre meant that the traders were not quite so vulnerable to the weather conditions.

The location enabled businesses to be in the thick of things.

It also meant footfall benefited this part of the town with shoppers able to easily locate the market.

Vicky Etheridge, who manages the Business Improvement District for Discover King's Lynn, said: "We have had some kind of Christmas market every year since 2017.

"The logistics of being outside are immense so we thought we would try indoors, and the large empty unit that was the Argos building was available.

"Traders we had worked with before in previous markets were happy how it went and would like it there again, maybe some pop-up events.

"We had lovely feedback from visitors about how great it was to use an empty building and to support small businesses."
