Inquest opens into death of man, 84, who fell from King’s Lynn bridge

An elderly man who fell from a bridge onto the A47 last week has died.

An inquest into the death of Cecil Thurston, who was 84, was opened and adjourned in Norwich yesterday.

Mr Thurston, of Eastfields Close, Gaywood, fell from a flyover onto the A47 close to the Saddlebow roundabout shortly after 1pm last Tuesday, March 3.

He was initially taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital before being airlifted to the Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. He died there last Friday.

Assistant coroner, Nick Holroyd, adjourned the inquest for a further hearing which is scheduled to take place at the Lynn county court on May 11.
