Visitors from the land of the tulip were among a throng of garden-lovers who came to enjoy 11 open gardens in Syderstone on Sunday.
Thirty-two Dutch visitors were entertained to a free lunch and toured all the gardens as part of a visit to the United Kingdom.
“They emailed me from Holland telling me they were on a grand tour and planned to come to our open gardens,” said Dizzy Goff, a member of the gardens working group that organised the day, who is pictured above with her husband, Bob.
“They wanted to look at domestic gardens, nothing grand.”
The annual event, which is more than 20 years old, is in aid of St Mary’s parish church.
“We are working hard to restore our Norman round tower church and every penny we make from an event like this is vital,” said Mrs Goff.
