Late night Christmas shopping could be an exciting new option for Downham Market
Last night's council meeting mentioned the possibility of late night shopping for the Christmas period.
The scheme would be a first for the town, with neighbouring Lynn the typical go to for late night shopping.
Mayor Jenny Groom said in the council meeting last night: "We have been discussing the possibility of late night shopping for the three weeks leading up to Christmas, we could have a band in the town and there are plenty of restaurants people could enjoy whilst shopping.
"The plan would be to have the Christmas lights in late November and then have late night shopping after that."
The town has some events planned for the lead up to Christmas including a Halloween and remembrance event.
