LEARN MOREA new £100,000 playground in Castle Acre is thrilling children and adults alike.
Youngsters have exciting and challenging new equipment to play on and grown-ups are benefitting from outdoor gym equipment.
The playground, which replaced old, less stimulating equipment, was opened on Friday after a six-week build by Norfolk firm Action Play & Leisure. The project was about 90 per cent funded by FCC Communities Foundation.
The playground has two areas, catering for those aged under and over seven years old. The features include a high tower, zip wire, multi-person swing and tunnel slide.
Charlie Williams, chairperson of Castle Acre Playing Field Association, is thrilled with the result of a long planning and funding project - and the early feedback.
She said: “The last playground was set up in 2000 and the community’s desires have moved on since then. This equipment is much more challenging with much more resource.
“I think during this extraordinary year and lockdown children have been amazing while their lives have been disrupted. The kids of this community and the wider community deserve this project and I’m incredibly privileged to say ‘this is for you’.”
Outdoor table tennis is the next planned addition.
