It’s best feet forward for Festival Too by the Guides
King’s Lynn Town Guides have put their best feet forward and raised money to support Festival Too with a Family Friendly Walk.
Four groups took advantage of the walk around town led by expert town guides.
Mark Stanford,, vice-chair of Festival Too, said: “I’ve lived in King’s Lynn for all of my 57 years and think it’s amazing how much there is still to discover about the town.
“Some of the Guides have only lived in Lynn for a relatively short time, and it’s amazing how much more knowledge they have than some of us who were born and bred here!”
The guides have been busy recently taking out several local groups keen to learn more about their town.
The ladies of North Wootton WI enjoyed a historic walk on a sunny summer afternoon and then 17 staff from Lynn Job Centre, had a social evening out after work.
Last year, this same group attended a Historic Walk, which they enjoyed so much they wanted to return to discover more about King’s Lynn. This time, they opted to book Ivor Rowlands’ “Old Lynn, New Pubs” walk.
Town Guides Chairman, Bob Price said, “Most of our regular walks are attended by visitors and tourists, but we are always pleased to get bookings for local people.”
Anyone is welcome to book a private walk at any time or day, with reasonable notice. There are 28 active Guides and so there is always a good chance that they will be able to accommodate most requests.
The King’s Lynn Town Guides give their services entirely voluntarily.
All the money raised from the walks goes directly to conservation projects in the town.
