Terry Jermy bags four high-profile endorsements ahead of general election day in bid to ‘defeat Liz Truss’ in South West Norfolk

South West Norfolk’s Labour candidate has secured four high-profile endorsements who hope he’s the man to “defeat Liz Truss” just days before the election.

Terry Jermy is being backed by Cllr Tom Ryves, former member of The Undertones Feargal Sharkey and comedy filmmakers James Durrant and Ben Fogg who all believe he stands the most realistic chance of replacing the incumbent MP.

Cllr Ryves previously publicly supported Independent candidate James Bagge, but recently made the switch to Labour.

“I have met with most of the candidates for South West Norfolk and have no hesitation in considering Terry Jermy as the most inclusive candidate with a proven track record of listening to constituents and as likely to be a member of the party of government best placed to bring the bacon to Norfolk,” he said.

Northern Irishman Sharkey has also been vocal about the candidate in a campaign video released on ‘X’, in which he encourages residents to get behind Mr Jermy because of his many years of support fighting for environmental issues, including support for rivers and chalk streams.

And the ambition for Mr Jermy’s campaign has continued to stretch much further than the constituency as he has caught the attention of London-based Durrant and Fogg who has worked with the likes of Andy Murray, Jack Whitehall, Clare Balding and Liam Payne.

“When I discovered that Elizabeth Mary Truss, destroyer of worlds and doubler of my mortgage, was attempting to continue serving as an MP, I knew deep down in my plums it was time to pull the plug, towel down and get to work,” said Mr Fogg, who is a director, writer and stand-up comedian.

“And so I’m proud to say that Fogg and I are now part of a team hoping to take down the toxic ghoul Liz Truss, working with tactical favourite Terry Jermy to amplify his online presence in these last few days before the election.”

They described Mr Jermy as a “genuinely top guy with years of experience in local government”.

With the election fast approaching, Mr Jermy says he wants to be the “champion” that South West Norfolk needs.

“It was clear from early in this campaign that residents were focused on replacing Liz Truss and wanted to get behind whoever was most likely to defeat her,” he said.

“I’m pleased that Tom and many others across the constituency recognise that I have the skills, contacts and campaigning experience needed to defeat Liz Truss and he has come on board to support my campaign, along with many others”.
