Outwell primary school pupil Johnathon Jarvis commended by Mayor for raising thousands for Hunstanton’s RNLI

A West Norfolk youngster was congratulated by the Mayor for taking on a tremendous challenge for charity.

Last summer, seven-year-old Johnathon Jarvis walked 40 miles from his home in Upwell to Hunstanton to raise money for the RNLI.

Johnathon did the walk alongside his parents, Kayleigh and Lee Jarvis, along with other family members and friends who joined in along the way.

Last Friday, Johnathon, a pupil at Beaupre Primary School in Outwell, was recognised for this hard work, where he raised more than £3,000 for Hunstanton’s Lifeboat Station.

He was visited at school by West Norfolk Mayor Paul Bland and was handed a certificate of commendation for his efforts during a special assembly.

However, Johnathon has no plans to stop his good deeds anytime soon as he plans to undertake another charity walk.

On May 29, he will walk from Happisburgh to Hunstanton RNLI Station.

Johnathon has always loved the colour yellow, the same colour lifeboat crews wear, as well as admiring the boats, hovercrafts and tractors.
