It’s your chance to eat, drink, listen to good music and be jolly ... at the 6th Ale and Music Festival being held at The Jolly Sailors in Brancaster Staithe.

There’s free entry to the festival and the entertainment starts this evening (Friday) with Midnight Cowboys playing from 7pm, followed by Murphy’s Law at 9.30pm.

Five bands are booked in for Saturday’s programme, which kicks off at 1pm with Nelson’s Shantymen; from 3pm it’s Nene Valley Jazz Band and from 6pm the Kansas City Flyers take to the stage.

In the evening, Killamonjambo start at 8.30pm and this group, signed to Love Records, have played at Glastonbury.

CC Smugglers, who have worked their way up from young street performers to playing the biggest festivals in the UK and Europe, headline the show from 10.30-11.30pm.

“Whispering” Bob Harris described them on Radio 2: “Great live...just brilliant.”

Sunday’s music is provided by The Quaysiders from 1-3pm.

As well as this great line-up of musical talent spread over three days, there will be no less than 30 real ales at the bar and a choice of pub food.

Fundraising during the festival will be for Brancaster Primary School and there is also a raffle to win a firkin of Woodfordes, with those proceeds going to the Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House.
