King’s Lynn Academy have launched their community day, which will support their twin school in Nepal. The event, which will be opened by Olympic swimmer Joanne Jackson will take place on Friday, July 10 between 1 and 5pm. West Norfolk primary school children are welcome to attend between 1 and 3pm, with the general public invited between 3 and 5pm.
A wide-range of activities has been planned by students and staff, who have already raised more than £1,800, and acting headteacher Terri Broughton said: “I couldn’t be more proud of the students and the staff, they have all stepped up when it mattered.
“It’s all about our school community working for the wider community and the community in Nepal as well. I would like to raise £10,000 in total and we would welcome any further sponsorship from local businesses who would also like to get involved.”
