For a third year, the King’s Lynn Arts Centre is hosting the Norfolk Travellers’ Education Service as they set up the Mart School for children of showmen.

The arts centre works co-operatively with the Travellers’ Education Service to host the ‘pop-up’ school in the venue, located on King Street just metres away from the fair.

The arts centre programmes exhibitions especially for their educational value for the period when the Mart is in town and works extensively with the teachers to assist them with delivering the curriculum, underpinned by the work on display.

As part of the week, the children will get the chance to experience and learn about shadow and stick puppets, masks, soundscapes and practice creative-writing exercises based on the First World War, as well as enjoying a visit from the Norwich Writers’ Centre.
