The annual presentation night for the 42F (King’s Lynn) Squadron Air Training Corps was a glittering occasion for cadets and guests.
Held at Lynn Town Hall last month, the guest of honour was Nicholas Pratt the High Sheriff of Norfolk.
In his speech, he praised the cadets for their keenness dedication and smartness.
He said: “I have seen you first hand on a number of occasions, including when you exercised your freedom and on a visit to the squadron on a parade night, and I have been very impressed.”
Flight Lieutenant Pauline Petch, reviewing the busy year and picked out for praise Sgt Jack Savage, who completed the Junior Leaders Course and a flying scholarship, and Cadet WO Alex Stapleton, who was awarded the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet Badge”.
The presentation of the 2015 awards followed: Best Cadet, Cdt Elliot Simpson; Best NCO, Cpl Jacob Bullock; Best New Recruit, Cdt Amber Stannard; George Cole Community Award, Cpl Victoria Norwood; Harry King Aviation studies, Cpl Gab Kiselieus; Geoff Bullen Flying Cup, Sgt Jack Savage; Sports Award, Cdt Charlie Gardyne; Sgt Hagon Award (for Endeavour), Cdt Dillen Cooper; Consents Solutions Award (for Continued Diligence & Effort), Cdt Pink. n On Thursday, the Flight held its Spitfire dinner and raised £3,000 with the sale fo the 24 model Spitfires seen around town this summer.
The money will be split between the Royal Air Force Association, Walking with the Wounded , 42F ATC and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
