Lynn Camera Club held its annual social event on July 6 in which the culmination of the past year’s competitions was marked by competitions for trophies for the “Print of the Year” and “PDI of the Year”. All last year’s first placed images were automatically entered, together with an invitation for non-placed entries, which were judged by Barbie Lindsay, MPAGB, EFIAP/s, FPBE. Members enjoyed her commentary, which was informative and entertaining.

There were 22 entries in the PDI section, seven of which were held back for further consideration. Andy Baden won with a striking surreal and emotive monochrome of a metallic figure apparently emerging from a lake surrounded by ominous mountains, entitled “Still”. The “Print of the Year” competition had 14 entries, from which six were held back for further consideration. Prabir Mitra won with a sensitive monochrome environmental portrait of an old lady standing in her doorway entitled Home Alone.
