A well-known Lynn fundraiser is preparing to embark on her latest fundraising challenge next month.

Bridget Wells will be taking to the roads on March 22 to complete a 30-mile cycling challenge in support of the Independence Matters Crossroads Community Hub in South Wootton and the William Day Centre in Tilney St Lawrence.

Mrs Wells, 60, has raised £45,000 for various good causes since she began her fundraising career in 1998.

And she hopes her latest venture, together with a forthcoming bingo and raffle plus a car boot sale, will help to improve facilities at both sites for older people, including those living with dementia.

Mrs Wells already supports Crossroads as a pasenger assistant on a bus which takes service users to and from the centre.

She said: “Money raised will go towards a variety of activities at the centre and access in the local community.

“We hope to purchase items to create a more homely environment and expand our garden facilities.”

Mrs Wells has thanked supporters who have already pledged sponsorship or bingo and raffle prizes, including books and jigsaws. Anyone wanting to sponsor Mrs Wells or donate items can do so at the Crossroads hub on Grimston Road, South Wootton.
